About

Join us for this level one encaustic class that is great for all levels of interest. Participants will get to learn techniques and practice their hand at this ancient art using heated wax to create colour, texture and depth. Each participant will be able to make numerous art pieces and will leave with their favourite one matted.

All Materials & Tools are included: irons, beeswax, crayons, paper, mats, cello sleeves

Please bring a smock/apron or dress for getting messy and creative.

How do I register?

Register online to hold you spot. If you are registering for more than one participant or for someone other than yourself please add them in as the student so we know who to expect. This class is FREE as part of our Arts4All initiative and involvement with Culture Days.

What is "Pay What You Can"?

These Arts4All Workshops are generously supported by grant funding through the Ontario Trillium Foundation and community donors. This grant allows us to offer professionally taught classes at no-cost, low-cost, and subsidized rates with the intent to remove the barriers that hinder our community from participating in the arts. As part of our participation in Culture Days weekend we have chosen to provide this workshop at no cost.

You are welcome to make a donation if you would like, but this is not a requirement. All funds received for registration will go back into our #BreakTheBarriersInitiative helping us provide ongoing programming to our community.

If you have questions about financial or travel assistance for these programs through the SSAC please contact [email protected]
