About
CHORAL CONNECTIONS is a community choir based in the TriCities area of Metro Vancouver. Like many choirs and other arts organizations, we have been struggling to find ways for our members to continue to make music. We have developed a system to allow singers to participate in online "rehearsal" sessions with Music Director Ingrid, and Accompanist Vincent. YOU ARE INVITED to join us in a virtual rehearsal as we continue to sing and learn during the pandemic, using Zoom video conferencing technology. Simply register at the email address below to receive the link information. EXPLORE THE CHORAL EXPERIENCE IN THE TIME OF COVID from the comfort and safety of your own home!

"Choral Connections" is an adult community choir based in Port Coquitlam BC, founded in 2013 by a group of amateur singers, and we’ve kept singing ever since.
In normal times, 80 members, men and women of all ages and backgrounds, rehearse weekly on Tuesday nights at Riverside Secondary School, and perform an eclectic repertoire of fabulous choral music from all kinds of styles and genres, classic to pop, old to modern, sung in all kinds of languages. We take pride in organizing and financing Our Choir ourselves and proudly employ two inspiring musicians - Music Director Ingrid Gay and Pianist and Composer Vincent Lo - our leaders in the quest for being the most awesome un-auditioned adult choir in the Lower Mainland!
We love sharing our love of music with others!
Choral Connections usually performs two repertoires in several concerts, both public and private, per year, and every other spring put on a stage show with performances by the whole choir and by self-led small groups in a nightclub-like setting for the audience.
Foiled in our ambitions by the pandemic, we have found a new way to keep creating harmony together. The choir now meets weekly per video conference, to exchange news, exercise our voices and safely meet up with friends. Singers practise the repertoire individually at home, aided by videos on our website, with recordings of Ingrid conducting, Vincent playing the accompaniment, and some singers singing the songs, so everyone can sing along and re-discover the choral feeling of joining your voice to those of the others. Each singer records his or her voice singing the songs, the submitted audio files then get mixed and polished by our music editors to create a virtual choir piece that we can publish on the net and share with our friends and the community in our first-ever virtual winter concert.
Going completely virtual poses many challenges, but also opens up new musical and creative possibilities. We love the fact that we are now able to invite former choir members who now live far away, and friends from all over the world to join the Virtual Choral Connections in song.
If you love to sing and have been frustrated by the shut-down enforced by Covid, join Choral Connections for one of our virtual choir rehearsals, and discover ways of keeping up your vocal training and your joy of making music with others from the safety of your home. We hope to be an inspiration and make new friends.
