About
Explore the vibrant history of Huntsville, Ontario, with walking and driving tours curated by the Huntsville and Area Historical Society. Free to download from the App Store and Google Play, the walking tour contains 26 stops at Huntsville’s historical sites. As a not-for-profit dedicated to the preservation and promotion of our local history and built heritage, we proudly celebrate the work and achievements of those who helped to found our beautiful town. With the help of the Muskoka Heritage Place and local historians, this app uses archival photos to explore the 'then and now' of our town over the past 150 years.
As you progress through the tours, each stop is GPS-activated and is accompanied by a written and audio description of each building, along with interesting photographs.
Explore the shops Downtown and beyond while you discover the history of the town!
Move at your own pace; the tour is designed to play when you reach a stop. Feeling extra historical? Take on the whole tour! It takes an hour and a half to complete at a relaxed pace (1.7km).
