LY Cairns School is hosting its first Round Dance! We are excited to invite the community to celebrate the beginning of a new school year through this cultural friendship dance. Everyone is welcome!
Schedule:
3:30pm - Pipe Ceremony
5:00pm - Feast
6:00pm-10:00pm - Round Dance
9:00pm - Givaway
The first 10 registered singers will be paid. Laurent Isadore will be the MC and Dale Alexis the Stickman.

We are a junior/senior high school within Edmonton Public Schools. We respectfully acknowledge that we are located on Treaty 6 territory, a traditional gathering place for diverse Indigenous peoples including the Cree, Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Dene, Saulteaux, Inuit, and many others whose histories, languages, and cultures continue to influence our vibrant community. This very land, where our school and community are, is the original territory of the Papaschase Band. We acknowledge and respect Treaty 6 territory on which this school resides and recognize and celebrate the history and significance of this land and the people who came before us. We acknowledge that we are all Treaty people and that Treaty 6 signifies the agreement and relationship among Treaty people living together.
