About
Dog-Eared Café has hosted a number of arts based events locally over the course of the last three years including monthly Poetry Nights, Open Mic Jam Nights, and hosting many other events including Queer Joy Queeraoke nights.
Dog-Eared Café Presents Paris Arts Showcase will be a multi-disciplinary event and the itinerary for the evening will include:
A visual art display up on our big, white wall.
Poetry readings hosted by Maichina Veri, with the readers curated from regular poetry readers.
Musical performances hosted by Lisa Costa also curated from regular performers.
The evening will culminate with Queer Joy Events hosting their Queeraoke night - a safe, inclusive, and fun space to sing your favourite tunes in front of a friendly and supportive crowd or just hang out and enjoy the vibe!
During the evening the café will be open and serving serving food and drinks from our regular menu.
This is a PWYC event with all proceeds going to charities such as Brantford Food Bank and Woodland Cultural Centre.
Organizer
Dog-Eared Café
Dog-Eared Café has been conceived of in the tradition of European cafe models of old to provide an atmosphere in which art, literature, and conversation are paramount. We’re a comfortable couch and a good book; a warm, carefully crafted coffee drink sipped slow to wash down a rich treat savoured. We’re good music and honest conversations, evenings spent with your community, a craft beer or local wine shared with laughter in your ears, the world’s demands left at the door. We're open mic poetry and music nights, inclusive and safe space "queeraoke" parties, and a big, white wall to showcase local artistic talent.
