The Winnipeg Mandolin Orchestra was formed in 1920 and gave its first public performance in 1921. It is the second oldest mandolin orchestra in North America. The orchestra features the complete mandolin family -- mandolin, mandola, mandocello and mandobass -- in addition to the more typical orchestral instruments. Today's Winnipeg Mandolin Orchestra, under the direction of Annis Kozub, performs an eclectic mix of Eastern European, Western Classical and Cinematic pieces.
