Organizer
Somos Colombia and the Mexican Dance Company of Viviana Sanchez
Somos Colombia: Somos Colombia is a dance group formed with members of the Colombian Community in Kelowna. The 15 members range from ages between 5 to 80 years old and include kids, secondary and university students, housewives, working professionals and community members. The group came together in December 2018 with the goal to engage in ongoing learning of Colombian folklore and culture through dance performances and participation in community events. The traditional dresses and accessories are all made in Colombia by artisans from different regions in the country. | Mexican Dance Company of Viviana Sanchez: Viviana Sanchez is a Mexican artist who moved to Kelowna a year ago. She is a dancer and choreographer. In the last 20 years she has worked mainly in Spain and France developing large format Mexican shows, and now she is starting a new company here in Kelowna that explores the traditional dances of Mexico. From a creative and stylized perspective, the company utilizes resources and relies on feedback from other types of dances.
