About
On the evening of Nuit Blanche, Keeley Haftner—wearing one of her signature tessellated uniforms made from industrial workwear and quilted fabric scraps—will continue this excavation as a live performance. Guided by visual input from the audience, she will further develop the work in real time, inviting collaborative input and reflection on cycles of use, visibility, and transformation.
During her PAVED Arts Senior Production Residency, Keeley Haftner will advance Tesselescence— an ongoing series that merges tessellation and obsolescence to explore objects, materials, and spaces that have lost their utility. In this new iteration, Haftner will transform the shared billboard at PAVED Arts and AKA Artist-Run into a site of material excavation. Her billboard will be installed as a functional stencil, which she will gradually peel away over the course of the residency to reveal layers of past billboards beneath—treating the surface as both canvas and archive.
