Each Thanksgiving, the Town of Porcupine Plain and Porcupine Opportunities Program hosts the Annual Scarecrow Contest & Scavenger Hunt. Residents and businesses are invited to set up fall displays and scarecrows around town. A map is created from registered businesses and households, which is shared online and on bulletin boards so residents and visitors can take a "tour" around town to view all of the scarecrows over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
