About
The City of Abbotsford’s Parks Services will be hosting a community tree planting event at Amblewood Park to celebrate Tree Canada’s National Tree Day. City staff will be helping volunteers to plant new park trees, while Invasive Art Initiative will be showing participants how to make key rings from invasive plants!
Explore the materials of two common invasive plants of the Lower Mainland - Horse Chestnut and Morning Glory. Invasive Art Initiative will help participants turn these plants into rustic keychains, offering ways to re-use and repurpose these common ecosystem disruptors.
The key chain workshops will be offered in 15-20 minute increments from 12:30-2:30pm, with 5 individuals able to participate at a time. Arrive early to select your timeslot!
The rest of the time, be sure to check out the tree planting, receive a tree seedling to plant at home, grab a snack, and enjoy the professional advice offered from our resident arborist about good tree care.
