The Creative Exchange: What It Is & How to Participate

Hosted by mentor, author, and community builder Candice Knight, The Creative Exchange is a community-driven gathering that brings together creators of all disciplines to connect, collaborate, and grow. With a background in teaching and personal development, Candice creates a welcoming space for meaningful creative exchange, personal growth, and inspiration. She is also the author of Under the Armor: The Courage to Surrender, a powerful guide to shedding emotional armor and stepping into your truth, an ethos that runs through every Creative Exchange session.

Originally developed by artist Mackenzie Perras in Kelowna, The Creative Exchange was created to encourage collaboration and cross-pollination among artists, makers, and innovators.

The Creative Exchange is a free, public gathering that blends open mic and networking. It’s open to creators of all backgrounds, whether you’re here to share your work, test an idea, or simply listen and connect.

Every session is different, shaped by who shows up and what they bring. Past events have featured:

Painters, sculptors, and architects sharing visionary projects

Poets and musicians captivating audiences with live performance

App developers and tech creatives showcasing artistic tools

Authors launching books and storytelling projects

Interdisciplinary collaborations that break creative boundaries

Each Creative Exchange is a free, public event moderated by an RCA facilitator. The format is simple and open-ended:

Anyone attending may share their work, ideas, or creative journey.

The environment is supportive rather than critical and people of all experience levels are encouraged to participate.

A flexible time limit ensures that all voices have the opportunity to be heard.

Candice brings warmth and depth to her role as facilitator, supporting participants in stepping into their authentic selves and exploring their creative potential. She guides the conversation while making sure everyone has the opportunity to speak, share, or simply observe.
