About
Relive tram and bus transit of the past with us at the Steveston Tram. Experience the rare opportunity to board a 60-year-old bus courtesy of the Transit Museum. Fondly nicknamed “the Fishbowl”, the GM Bus 4612 was the first order of the GM “New Look” buses for Vancouver in 1964. Take in its vintage mid-century modern atmosphere as you sit in its seats and imagine what it was like to be a passenger six decades ago.
Walk a few steps to the nearby Steveston Tram building, where you can sit aboard Tram Car 1220 and return to the golden age of rail transit. Then stop by our art station and create your own copy of The Buzzer, the free onboard publication that has been regularly published for passengers since 1916. The first 100 visitors to the Steveston Tram will also receive a free vintage copy of The Buzzer from January 1990 that celebrated 100 years of transit in BC.

The Steveston Tram museum features Tram Car 1220, one of the original trams that ran on Richmond's interurban rail system. Today, the immaculately restored tram car and the building that houses it, allow visitors to experience authentic interurban rail travel and learn about early 20th century transportation.
