About

Join us in a vibrant celebration of culture and creativity through the art of embroidery!

Hosted by Creative Community Hive with support from the Burlington Arts and Culture Fund, Stitching Together: Cross-Cultural Narratives Through Embroidery is a series of immersive workshops designed to weave diverse stories into a unified masterpiece.

These sessions blend lecture demonstrations with hands-on instructions, making them a perfect opportunity to learn, connect, and contribute. Whether you're a seasoned stitcher or a curious beginner with basic embroidery skills, you'll enjoy crafting alongside others as we explore the rich tapestry of Burlington’s diverse cultural heritage.

As part of Culture Days, we are hosting two special sessions:

✅September 28th, 2-4 pm: Burlington Public Library, Alton branch, Burlington.

✅October 2nd, 10 am-12 pm: Port Nelson Church, Burlington

Especially, on Sep 28th we will be Featuring Mariam Adel Eid, who will introduce the beauty of Kerdasa embroidery from Egypt.

“When you hear ‘Egyptian embroidery,’ you might envision pharaonic symbols or hieroglyphics, right? Let us introduce you to a rich side of Egypt that isn’t as well-known—Kerdasa embroidery. Join us and let your hands dive into the art of another culture.” — Mariam

All embroidered pieces will be assembled into one community artwork, symbolizing the strength and beauty of our shared stories.

Register today and join us to be part of something special—reserve your spot today and stitch your story into our community tapestry!
