Organizer

New Works

New Works is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization that provides artist support and presentation, and is dedicated to developing communities through accessible art engagement.

Over the course of the year, New Works presents professional and emerging dance artists in venues around Vancouver, produces a series of workshops and classes for underserved communities, provides professional management services for a diversity of dance companies, and produces workshop series and professional development programs in response to community need.

New Works is a Vancouver-based non-profit, charitable organization, founded by Barbara Clausen and a like-minded group of cultural workers in 1993 as a vehicle for the development, production and presentation of culturally diverse work that brings affordable, professional dance from around the world to local neighborhood venues.

In 1998, New Works began to operate additionally as a dance management organization, providing stable, affordable management services to some of innovative dance artists and companies, while also providing pro bono and special project assistance to many creators in the city’s dance ecology. New Works continues to play an important role in building the next generation of arts administrators by providing on-site internships, work experience, and mentorship.
