About

Join us on September 30 for activities in recognition National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

The Treaty 4 Timeline: Walk for Reconciliation takes us through the history of life here on Treaty 4 land, from pre-contact to modern day. Events that happened here are featured, as well as events that happened elsewhere on Turtle Island that effected life here.

After your walk, join Krystal from CollabARTive Studios for a tote bag art project based on the Seven Grandfather Teachings. The Seven Grandfather Teachings are fundamental virtues in some Anishinaabe cultures, guiding individuals toward a good life and includes Wisdom, Love, Respect, Bravery, Honesty, Humility, and Truth. Each teaching is associated with a spiritual gift, a specific animal, and represents a core virtue for a complete and healthy life, such as respecting all of Creation or demonstrating integrity in facing challenges.

Unable to attend our event on September 30? The Treaty 4 Timeline will be installed along the walking track at the Credit Union Spark Centre from September 22 until October 10. Please call the Spark Centre front desk for times, as classrooms will doing the walk throughout its installation.
