About

Participants can expect an interactive, community-driven sustainable fashion experience that combines creativity, education, and fun. The event begins with a guided thrift crawl through local second-hand and vintage stores, where participants will learn about sustainable fashion, textile waste, and conscious consumerism while sourcing items within a set budget.

Following the thrift crawl, participants will transform their finds into unique runway looks and showcase their creations in a public fashion show. Attendees can watch the runway presentations, meet local designers, students, stylists, and thrift retailers, and learn practical ways to reduce fashion waste. The event will also feature educational displays, storytelling about the environmental and social impacts of clothing, opportunities to connect with local businesses, and audience engagement activities celebrating creativity, culture, and sustainability. The public can expect an inspiring, family-friendly event that demonstrates how fashion can be innovative, affordable, and environmentally responsible.

Organizer

Sustainable Fashion Week Canada | Musey

Musey is a social enterprise based in London, Ontario, dedicated to building a more sustainable, ethical, and inclusive fashion ecosystem. Through education, storytelling, community engagement, and maker support, Musey connects consumers with the people, traditions, and processes behind the products they purchase. Year-round, Musey hosts workshops, markets, community events, educational campaigns, and partnerships that promote circular fashion, sustainable consumption, and local creativity.

As the organizer of Sustainable Fashion Week Canada (SFWC), Musey works to create opportunities for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration across the fashion sector. SFWC brings together designers, students, retailers, artists, educators, and community members to explore solutions to fashion waste and celebrate sustainable alternatives. Throughout the year, the organization supports thrifting initiatives, clothing swaps, runway events, educational programming, and knowledge-sharing opportunities that encourage Canadians to rethink their relationship with clothing.

This Culture Days event aligns closely with our mission by making sustainability accessible, creative, and community-focused. Through hands-on participation, attendees will learn practical ways to reduce waste, support local businesses, celebrate diverse forms of expression, and experience fashion as a tool for cultural storytelling and positive social impact.
