No matter what you want to write, our experienced authors and writing coaches can help you. Enjoy free family participation in hands-on activities. Easy word fun for youngsters, sensitive guidance for those writing memoirs. Chat with our panel about non-fiction, poetry, social media, and publishing help.

Faye Arcand is an award-winning short story writer, agented author, and columnist for Black Press. She’s currently working on her second novel and resides in the South Okanagan.

Aggie Stevens is a radio host and producer; formerly a print media reporter and freelancer, fine arts columnist in Vancouver, and advertising manager. Currently working on a series of romantic comedies and has plans for a book on intuitive development.

Sita Rani is a writer & facilitator living in Penticton. She completed her graduate degree in journal writing for personal growth with an Indigenous perspective. Rani has been teaching workshops on the topic for the past 9 years across Canada. She has recently published a poem in The Grain magazine and was shortlisted for The Malahat Review's Open Season for a creative nonfiction short story.

Author and freelance writer/photographer Julie H. Ferguson has ten non-fiction books, both traditionally and self-published, and countless articles in print and online. She has been facilitating writers’ groups for ten+ years, and instructing/coaching writers towards publication since 2000. Everyone, ten and over, is welcome to join her and “Give Writing a Try!”

Penticton and District Community Arts Council

The Mission of Penticton & District Community Arts Council is to increase and broaden opportunities for the public enjoyment of and participation in cultural activities, while working closely with all levels of government to address the cultural needs of the Community.

This year the Penticton & District Community Arts Council (PDCAC) is holding the annual Arts Rising Festival on the national Culture Days weekend. Culture Days’ theme this year is creativity, arts, and well-being with a focus on events that are participatory in nature.

All of the events are:
