About

Join the community of Parry Sound as we open our Culture Days Weekend celebrations with a classic community event: The Hive!

A Poetry Circle to satisfy the writing itch; The Music Makers Circle to jam out and create original music with fellow improvisers; The Hive Coffee House to share your original material with the community of Parry Sound, and then sit back and relax with a warm beverage and some sweet treats. Varying from month to month, you can find poets, classical musicians, folk rock groups, and sometimes even a few actors! There is always a wonderful blend of positivity and creativity during these special Friday evenings; all that's missing is you.

Friday Sept. 27th - Canadore College Student Lounge

Poetry Circle - 4:00 pm

Music Makers Circle - 5:30 pm

The Hive Coffee House - 7:30 pm

Organizer

Ardeleana Chamber Music Society (Whispering River Music)

A registered Canadian charity for 32 years, the Ardeleana Chamber Music Society has been actively involved in the arts community in and around Parry Sound for many years, officially making Parry Sound our home five years ago.

Our mission statement:

Through establishing a vibrant local musical community in Parry Sound by working with existing groups, and adding an orchestra and string program to that community, we seek to build an innovative movement towards an enriched and authentic creativity in music in particular and the arts in general, in Canada.

We actively teach year-round string courses for all ages in Parry Sound and many surrounding communities, host monthly poetry circles and community music-making sessions, pop up on the street from time to time to play for local businesses, as well as hold a number of community orchestra and choir performances at various times throughout the year.
