About
As an artist and cultural worker with a focus on sustainability, much of Catherine Beaudette’s work has been connected to the sea and the communities that border it in Newfoundland and Nova Scotia. Sealander invites us below the surface to peek at the ocean floor where seaweed and other organisms play a critical role in the ocean’s biodiversity. These recent watercolours convey her strong interest in the ocean, climate change and the language of painting.
Catherine Beaudette lives in Montreal, Quebec and Pictou, Nova Scotia. She is the founder of Bonavista Biennale and 2 Rooms Contemporary Art Projects in Newfoundland, and Gallery 202 in Pictou. She has exhibited and attended artist residencies in Canada, Europe, and the US.
