About
The Richmond Gem and Mineral Society welcome you to join us on September 24, 9:00AM to 3 PM as we introduce you to our club activities and share our Lapidary skills. The first stop is the Culture Centre Plaza where you can view our boutique table. See examples or what we create with our rocks and silversmithing tools. Try your hand at creating a simple necklace, bookmark or ring. Test your knowledge with the the Rock Identification game. If you have a rock you would like identified, bring it along. Boutique items are for sale.
Second stop is the lapidary studio on the second floor. Watch as rough rock is cut into slabs, shaped into preformed cabochons, and finally polished to create a finished cabochon. Observe jewellery being created in silversmithing. There is something to pique everyone's interest.

Other activities include disciplines such as lapidary, silversmithing, carving, and lost wax casting.
Our monthly general meeting consists of a business, social and program portion. The meetings are open to the public and are free to attend. There is a cost to join the club, to use the lapidary studio and to take classes to learn the various skills. The studio is open several days a week and some evenings. To use the equipment members must complete the necessary course.
