Our Program Coordinator, Tammy Willman, will teach participants a variety of weaving techniques that they will use to create their own unique piece of textile art using yarn and a lap loom.

All materials and tools will be supplied, but participants are welcome to bring their own yarn if they have specific colours or textures that they would like to weave into their piece.

This workshop is free of charge and is geared for adults and teens.

This activity is inspired by our September/October art gallery exhibition, "Hanna Yokozawa Farquharson: Calling". The looms were purchased thanks to micro-grant funding from OSAC (Organization of Saskatchewan Arts Councils).

Grand Coteau Heritage & Cultural Centre

The Grand Coteau Heritage & Cultural Centre is located in the heart of Shaunavon, Saskatchewan. The Centre houses a museum, art gallery and the Shaunavon Branch of the Chinook Regional Library. Our collection is multi-disciplinary, including artifacts relating to the human history of Shaunavon, fine arts and natural history specimens of the area. A variety of programs and tours are offered in association with our collection, making us more than a collection of objects. Through our educational programming, community activities and events, we provide opportunities for our public to experience and appreciate the arts and culture, as well as the natural history and the human history of our area.
