About
Join the Red Head Gallery for a special artist talk with Christine Dewancke!
Christine Dewancke is a Toronto-based artist whose work explores the physical and psychological effects of the spaces we occupy and how the built environment informs our experiences and relationships with each other. Interested in systems of production and circulation and how these conditions influence our relationship to materials and place, much of Christine's work is site specific, responding to the environment in which it is situated and is informed by the historical, socio-economic and ecological conditions that produce the places we inhabit.
The Red Head Gallery is a professional artists’ collective committed to exhibiting the work of established and emerging artists and to encourage work that is critically engaged within a wide range of contemporary discourse. It is the embodiment of a concept as well as a physical space. It is a reflection of its seventeen artist-members who inspire, challenge and support one another's discipline through exhibitions and exchanges that bring their work to the wider community. The Red Head Gallery is also a community that facilitates engagement within the visual arts, for networking, and socializing, and contributing to meaningful discourse.
Organizer
Ontario Culture Days
The Ontario Culture Days Festival is an annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage taking place each fall across the province. Each year, we work with organizers of all disciplines to produce this province-wide festival. Organizers host programs throughout Ontario and invite the public to participate for free.
Ontario Culture Days lives at the local level. We support organizers from the smallest hamlets to the largest cities, while coordinating with other national and provincial Culture Days partners. We support the success of our sector colleagues through resources and network development, while highlighting the breadth and heterogeneity of Ontario’s arts and culture to the wider public.
