About
Gather under trees to speak about forests, what they mean to us and engage in child friendly land acknowledgement. Move to the forest with the invitation of looking at gathering loose items and harvesting using Indigenous principles. Invitation to create art using weaving and arranging. Art to be left in the forest to be looked at, interacted with, expanded and letting nature reclaim it. Art to be created, observed and visited.
This workshop is all ages, children & youth are encouraged to attend. Participants must book their space on Eventbrite prior to attending. This workshop is capped at 15 participants.
This event is part of the Ontario Culture Days Regional Hub Program.

Shannon Speer
Shannon Speer has been an RECE specializing in outdoor/natural learning spaces and arts infusion in early learning environments for more than 20 years. She has been working in the capacity of artist with ACTArtists and Children Together for 2 years. Shannon enjoys offering new ways of thinking about creativity and introducing or reinforcing skill and comfort in using art media as individuals, educators and in early learning settings.
