About

On October 17 at 12:00pm, the North Vancouver Museum and Archives (NVMA) will be releasing in Home Movie Day (virtual edition).

Our virtual program includes a screening of a selection of local home movies from our archives and a mini home movie preservation clinic with a local moving image archivist.

An annual event, Home Movie Day is a worldwide celebration of amateur films and filmmaking designed to bring awareness to film and moving image preservation and an opportunity to watch some pretty cool home movies! It was conceived as a community event in 2002 by a group of film archivists concerned about the future of all the home movies shot on film during the 20th Century.

Organizer

North Vancouver Museum and Archives

The North Vancouver Museum and Archives (NVMA) is a shared partner agency of the City and District of North Vancouver.

NVMA operates both the new Museum of North Vancouver scheduled to open in Lower Lonsdale in 2021, as well as the Archives of North Vancouver located in Lynn Valley. In addition to the two physical visitor centres, NVMA supports several other online/offsite experiences for the public to engage with and learn about the past, present and future stories of North Vancouver.
