Opera Makers: Activities for Young Creatives is a series of quick-bite videos for young people (ages 7-12) to explore and try their hand at all the art forms that make up opera. Led by the Canadian Opera Company's acclaimed teaching artists, topics range from singing and composing to movement and design. By the end of each interactive tutorial, participants will learn how opera relies on many different kinds of storytelling to create drama and emotion. Video 1: Learn about diction by practicing tricky tongue twisters Video 2: No music experience required to learn how to sing like an opera singer! Video 3: Learn how melodies and motifs in music shape how an audience feels Video 4: Dive into set design by creating your own mini-set Video 5: "Reci-what?" Learn how operas use "recitative" to tell the story Video 6: Create your own tune in our Composer's Corner Video 7: Get up and get moving to boost your body and brain! Video 8: Using audience-submitted words, we've created a "Mad Libs" aria (song)!

This event runs the duration of Culture Days.
