About

Artist Statement:

Excavation Gardens is a site-specific exhibition of hybrid sculptures centering the physical manifestation of interspecies intra-action and natural forms of contamination-as-collaboration. Within existing gardens, sculptures exist in a place of exposure and constant change, becoming-with the environment. While making your way around and through the installation, you may see leaves and pine needles falling into basins of water, insects buzzing, a foggy image of stone and dirt. You might hear the low rumble of a dehumidifier, the wet sizzle of dry soil sucking up water, the chirping of ultrasonic rat communication. Nothing is inert, everything is potentialized.
