Explore the Italianate splendour of the heart of Acton - its refurbished nineteenth century town hall with original bell tower and modern addition. This grand building hosted council meetings of the town fathers, rocked on Saturday night dance parties and jailed delinquents in its cold dark cell. Take a seat in both the cell on the main floor and the carved mayor's chair in the beautifully restored grand hall.
