Behind the Beauty: The Struggles of a Kathakali Artist

I've made this video for this occasion to spread awareness about the struggles Kathakali artists have been facing. Their struggles are quite overlooked, but I hope I've been able to shed some light on their lives and their experiences through my way of communicating. It took me about a month to get this project together. The artwork, the video-editing, the writing and the audio-recording have all been a one-person job, but helping the video gain the recognition it deserves wouldn't be possible by just one person. So, I hope everyone who watches this video and comes across my art can share, repost, like and comment on my work. It would mean the world to me.

Videos like mine allow viewers to enter another world and explore stories that were unheard of - all at the convenience of sitting at your own home. To escape from our realities, see the world from a different lens and listen to its tales during a time like COVID-19 is a possible dream. So stay safe, stay at home to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and while you're at it, keep exploring!

I am an artist who uses pencil crayons to make pieces surrounding matters around the world. Being a high school student, I believe in activism through art and I believe that voices can be heard through umpteen mediums, visual arts being one of them. My vibrant city Brampton also influences my creativity and my art. Creativity is fueled by the reinvention of oneself and every year, I explore different opportunities to learn something new to further foster my love for art and the creativity I have for it. This is who I am and this is my craft.
