About
Join us for a soul-nourishing day in the heart of Glen Morris, where nature, creativity, and cultural storytelling come together in a meaningful and memorable experience. "Art of the Earth, Heart of the People" is a unique program designed to celebrate the beauty of the natural world while honouring the diverse stories, traditions, and histories we each carry.
We begin the day with a peaceful morning immersed in the natural surroundings of Glen Morris. As we explore the forests, fields, and riversides, we will pause to observe and reflect on the quiet magic of the earth — the textures of bark, the movement of water, the play of light through the leaves. This guided walk invites participants to reconnect with nature, slow down, and gather inspiration for the creative journey ahead.
Following our outdoor exploration, we move into a hands-on art-making experience that blends natural materials and personal storytelling. Participants will have access to an array of beautiful, organic elements such as wood, flowers, leaves, shells, and natural fibres. You will learn basic weaving techniques and how to integrate these woven elements into a larger, mixed-media art piece that is as unique as your story.
At the heart of this program is the invitation to bring something personal — a small item or symbol from your heritage, your past, or your home. These items will become part of your artwork, creating a deeply personal and meaningful connection between you, the natural materials, and the collective spirit of the group.
"Art of the Earth, Heart of the People" is more than just a workshop — it's a celebration of what connects us. While we each come from different paths, cultures, and traditions, together we create something beautiful, woven from nature, memory, and heart. Whether you are an experienced artist or just curious to explore, this program welcomes all who wish to create with intention, connect with nature, and share in the stories that make us who we are.
Come be a part of this beautiful and grounding day. Let the earth inspire you. Let your heart lead the way.
