Directions: On the Carlton-Hargrave and Donald-Smith blocks, you’ll find seven custom circular light structures. New lighting has also been added beneath the skywalk that links Hargrave and Donald Streets.

About
Encircle is a luminous gesture of renewal created to enhance and celebrate the transformation of Graham Avenue in Downtown Winnipeg. Suspended rings of light hover above a welcoming bench, marking the avenue as a place not only to pass through but to pause, rest, and gather. Designed and built in Winnipeg, Encircle embraces both beauty and practicality: light here is not only vibrant and artistic, but also serves to define and brighten a shared urban space.
As Graham Avenue evolves into a vibrant cultural corridor, Encircle offers a beacon of creativity and belonging. By day, its sculptural rhythm frames the street as a place of possibility; by night, its radiant glow transforms the avenue into an illuminated landmark. More than an installation, Encircle contributes to the identity of Graham Avenue as a unique and special destination—an urban space reimagined through light, joy, and the act of coming together.
Encircle is located along the new four-block pedestrian area of Graham Avenue and consists of seven unique lighted structures, plus an installation underneath the skywalk between Canada Life Centre and City Place. These four blocks are the site of a new pedestrian and active transportation corridor and contain heritage buildings, green space, a public plaza, the Millennium Library, as well as new development.
