Imagine standing on a viewing platform overlooking the magnificent York River valley below when nature is at its most colourful in late September. Take a short hike along our interpretive trail to learn about the more than 10,000-year history of Indigenous people in this area, the life of the early European settlers, the unique geology of the Bancroft region and the varied eco-systems found within Eagles Nest Park. Enjoy a smudging and drumming session in cooperation with the Algonquin community at 10:30 a.m. and take an opportunity for some hands-on fun by making your own souvenir laced pouch to hold a special memento of the day.

Also, from 2 PM - 4 PM enjoy some bannock, on the Eagles Nest, with some tasty jams from the Stone Kitchen 33 Sherbourne St. N., Bancroft, Ontario. The Stone Kitchen will be having small - batch jams & jellies tasting Friday and Saturday, September 27 and 28, from 10 AM - 5 PM at 33 Sherbourne St. N. Bancroft.

Stewards of Eagles Nest Park, is a not for profit organization, that maintains existing infrasturcture in Bancroft Eagles Nest Park. Also creating and maintaining new, educational, cultural, spiritual and recreational opportunities.
