About

Join us on the National Day for Truth & Reconciliation as Metis Elders demonstrate how to prepare traditional fry bread; afterward, we will gather for a stew lunch and fellowship, sharing stories and fostering understanding as part of our commitment to truth and reconciliation.  This event is a chance to connect, learn and honour Metis traditions together.

The afternoon will also feature a performance by Cowboy Poet, Larry Krause, as he shares songs and stories of people, places and times long past and recent.

Organizer

Town of Porcupine Plain, Metis Nation Saskatchewan Eastern Region II, Parkland Co-op

The Town of Porcupine Plain aims to provide a secure place to live, work and play, while embracing nature, culture and diversity, and providing programming and facilities for our residents that are accessible, supportive and stimulating for all age groups. Métis Nation—Saskatchewan (MN-S) represents the political, socioeconomic, cultural and educational interests of the province’s Métis citizens. The Town of Porcupine Plain works closely with MN-S Eastern Region II Office located in Porcupine Plain to provide a variety of cultural programming and events in Porcupine Plain throughout the year.

Thank you to Parkland Co-op for supporting and sponsoring this program.
