About

'In The Garden' is a visual and hands-on experience of the artistically expressed elements and motifs of gardens in hand woven wool tribal rugs made by nomadic women in central and west Asia from 40 to 140 years ago.

Come explore and enjoy the art of unique and skillfully woven tribal rugs from across the globe - right here in our own city!

Organizer

Abdul Tawab Taraki, Amy Blanchard

Rubia Darya is a rug gallery in the E. Exchange that offers artistically inspired and woven wool rugs and textiles that were made by women in tribal families in central and west Asia. They were created for their own family's purposes, passing the tradition of rug weaving through generations. Our collection of tribal rugs were woven in a range of ages from 40 to 140 years ago.

Our gallery shares and promotes the appreciation of the art and history of these one-of-a-kind rugs, as well as the skillful women who wove them, by hosting seminar and film events free of charge throughout the year.
