The ART Tour for Bedside Art Fans is an online art exhibition for the patients and staff of Saint-Vincent Hospital, Ottawa’s only Continuing Complex Care hospital. It is ONLY available to the general public online. There are hundreds of pieces of art at Saint-Vincent Hospital - prints, paintings, sculptures, murals, and tapestries, scattered throughout the five floors of the facility. Many patients and staff only know of the works that are on their unit. What other art exists in the building? What stories are told? Due to the pandemic and the individual health situations of many Saint-Vincent patients, we have created a different way for patients to access the art at Saint-Vincent. An online album of art works has been curated by Bruyère’s Artist-in-Residence. Patients can experience the art of Saint-Vincent from the comfort of their rooms. This art is accessible to the patients and the wider Saint-Vincent community such as family and friends who are now limited in their physical access to the building. The art album can be accessed through this link: https://photos.app.goo.gl/zid4XTagBA1TGf617 By clicking on the “Say Something” button on the lower right corner of the screen, viewers can comment on the photos, see descriptions and stories of the art, and see comments from the Artist-in-Residence, cj fleury. Accessible to all.
This event is free.
