TRC Calls to Action: A Participatory Reading
History & heritage
Truth and Reconciliation
From 2010 to 2015, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) listened to and documented the experiences of survivors, families, communities and anyone personally affected by the Indian Residential School Experience. The 94 Calls to Action are foundational to the process of redressing the legacy of residential schools and advancing reconciliation in so-called Canada. Vernon and District Immigrant & Community Services Society (VDICSS) invites you to join in for a participatory reading of the 94 Calls to Action being held on the grounds of City Hall. Admission is by Donation.
This event is free and will be accepting optional pay-what-you-may donations for admission.
Vernon & District Immigrant & Community Services Society
At Vernon & District Immigrant & Community Services Society, we see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our beginnings in 1989, we’ve been driven by the same ideas we initially founded our non-profit organization upon: support, empowerment, and progress. VDICSS supports newcomers to Canada in becoming thriving, contributing members of the community and are a catalyst for positive change driven by our 6 values: Equity, Empowerment, Progress, Inclusivity, Diversity and Collaboration.
