About

Episode 1: The Body in the Dumpster

When you leave your safe, suburban house at the end of a pandemic, you’re taking your life in your hands, but you don’t expect to be suddenly on the run from a murderer.

This mystery series features retired civil servant Mabel Maple, the "Miss Marple of Orleans," as she investigates murder and mayhem in the east end of Ottawa, beginning with a body behind the Your Independent Grocery store in the Orleans Gardens strip mall that has the whole neighbourhood agog.

Miss Maple Mysteries will be available wherever you get your podcasts. For more information, join our mailing list at ragandbone.ca

Rag & Bone Puppet Theatre

Rag & Bone Puppet Theatre has toured across Canada and the U.S. since 1978 with over 100 performances a year in schools, libraries, children's festivals and theatres. Kathy has also written for many children's TV shows, including Mr. Dressup, Under the Umbrella Tree, and Theodore Tugboat. John appeared as Jackson on the YTV show Crazy Quilt. Numerous awards include an ACTRA award and a Citation of Excellence in the Art of Puppetry from UNIMA, the international puppetry association.

We aim to present intimate and innovative theatre experiences for audiences of all ages, with simple effects that encourage people to use their imaginations and see things from different points of view.

Throughout the pandemic we recorded, edited, and streamed more than 80 virtual presentations to more than 17,000 participants in school, family, and senior audiences. With this family friendly podcast for adults, we hope to reach a whole new audience.
