Directions: UrbanScreen projects art after dark on the Bing Thom-designed City Centre branch of Surrey Libraries on the wall facing the plaza. Exhibitions begin 30 minutes after sunset and end at midnight. During large public events or film and television shoots when tents, equipment, and props in the Plaza may obscure artworks, UrbanScreen goes dark.

About
Symbol Harvesting is a stop-motion animation projection that animates Kaur’s recurring motifs—the pomegranate, lotus, moon, and anatomical heart. The title marks a shift from the painting Symbol Harvester, where the term functions as a noun and an active verb, emphasizing movement and transformation. From a central blue-hued figure, green vegetation grows from the character’s hands, unfurling into living vines that bear evolving symbols. These forms suggest an inner world—seeds of imagination producing symbolic fruit that functions as a visual language. Translating imagery from a three-foot-wide acrylic painting with hand embroidery and beading, the work reflects on farming and harvesting as practices of care and gathering.
