The Ottawa Deaf Expo 2025 is a dynamic and inclusive event that celebrates the richness of sign language and Deaf culture. Taking place at the EY Centre on Saturday, September 20, 2025, this gathering will bring together community members, businesses, educational institutions, and organizations to promote awareness, accessibility, and empowerment.
Attendees can look forward to:
a) Exhibits – Discover a wide array of booths featuring Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Deafened and Hard of Hearing (DDBDHH)-owned businesses, other companies, non-profits, government agencies and educational institutions.
b) Educational Workshops – Engage with presenters to learn about sign language, accessibility rights, technologies and DDBDHH community.
c) Networking Opportunities – Connect with local and national organizations dedicated to the DDBDHH community, fostering meaningful relationships and collaborations.
d) Cultural Performances – Enjoy live entertainment that showcases the beauty of sign languages, and artistic expression.
e) Family-Friendly Activities – Interactive spaces for all ages, including children’s activities, games, and hands-on learning experiences.
f) Celebration of International Day of Sign Languages – Join in the global recognition of sign languages and Deaf identity, in alignment with the World Federation of the Deaf’s International Week of Deaf People.

The Ottawa Deaf Expo 2025 will take place at the EY Centre on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 10am to 5pm. The event aims to raise awareness of sign languages within our communities, bringing people together to celebrate the vibrancy of sign language culture. This celebration coincides with the World Federation of the Deaf’s International Day of Sign Languages and the International Week of Deaf People.
This event highlights the vital role of sign languages and accessibility. By fostering connections, empowering Deaf, Deaf-Blind, Deafened and Hard of Hearing (DDBDHH)-owned businesses, and celebrating cultural expression through sign language, it strengthens the Deaf Ecosystem and promotes greater inclusion.
