About
Join us for a day filled with hands on cultural demonstrations , displays, workshops and entertainment. We will be offering a variety of workshops such a perogie making, Metis beading workshop, Bannock making, Ukrainian Easter Egg decorating and more. The workshops and demonstrations will be set up for participants to rotate stations and displays approx. every 15 minutes. This gives every participant an opportunity to experience a variety of cultural experiences. Welcome and opening remarks will be at 9:15 am with participation in workshops to follow. Entertainment by the Bear Clan Dance Group will take place at 11:30am.
Cultural Lunch Options available for sale from 12:00pm -1:00 pm .Come support the Whitehawk Art's Council for their lunch option of Irish Stew and a amazing Guinness Chocolate Cake along with the sale of Perogies and chicken with proceeds going to the Sturgis Recreation Board. The afternoon session will consist of opening remarks and welcome at 1:15 with the Bear Clan Dance Group entertainment to follow. Workshops and demonstrations to follow until 3:30 pm. Cultural supper options available with the Irish Stew and Guinness Chocolate Cake available for sale and chicken wings with flavors from around the world starting at 5:30pm. The evening entertainment will start with local performers from 5:30pm - 6:30 pm. We are excited to present the Jamaican Parkland Association and their amazing performance at 6:30pm. The Barveenok Ukrainian Dance Club will share their performances at 7:15pm. The Preeceville Filipino Association will follow at 8:00 pm and Dean Kush singer/songwriter will be our closing performance at 8:30 pm.

The Sturgis and Recreation Board is a volunteer based organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all residents of Sturgis and Surrounding area. Our role is to plan, support and deliver a wide variety of recreational, cultural and community based programs. We ensure accessibility so that everyone regardless of age, background, or financial means has the opportunity to take part in recreation and cultural activities.
