About
In this workshop, participants will learn the basics of hand sewing and embroidery by making mixed-media earrings made primarily of felt fabric. Providing an inclusive, trans-friendly space to get creative, chat, and have fun! Participants will be given the freedom to experiment with the materials available to create a project they're excited about. At the end, they will leave with 1 pair of custom earrings that include their pronouns.
These free workshops are designed for ages 13 and up and will last up to 120 minutes.
About the instructor: Laura Olive is an interdisciplinary emerging artist based in Calgary, Alberta working on their final year at AUArts in the Media Arts Program. Their practice is currently focused on a playful study of gender and it's implications in the world through use of fibre, drag and media art.
