Organizer

Jill Yokoyama

Jill Yokoyama is a proud Burlington resident and a local violinist/fiddler. She is a classically-trained violinist who performs with the Oakville Symphony. About 20 years ago Jill was bitten by the "fiddle bug" and since then has enjoyed performing, teaching and learning about the fiddle traditions of Canada, including Ontario old-time fiddle, Cape Breton fiddle, and Celtic fiddle. Jill has studied fiddle with renowned Cape Breton fiddler Sandy McIntyre, studied at Gaelic College in Cape Breton, and has performed with many local fiddle groups. She teaches Celtic fiddle classes for the Town of Oakville at the Sir John Colborne Recreation Centre.
