The Parahumans is a dance company that was founded in 1992 by founding Artistic Director Dave Wilson. They have performed at many venues, events, festivals, cabarets across Toronto and the GTA and received the Fan’s Choice Award at the 2011 New York-Long Island film festival for ‘Boy Dancer,’ a 47-minute dance documentary. The company’s main focus is on Post-Contemporary Dance, which blends contemporary dance techniques along with everyday actions, theatre, live music, novel movement, and semi-structured performance presentations. The Parahumans consciously support emerging dancers, especially those new to Canada or pursuing permanent residence status.
