About
Join the Dänojà Zho Cultural Centre for a special workshop inspired by a long ago sacred women's hood/bonnet. Led by local Elders, participants with previous sewing experience will be guided through the construction of their own custom hood/bonnet, accompanied by storytelling, discussion of women's roles and ceremonies, and sharing of related words in the Hän language. Materials will be provided.
Workshop sessions will take place on October 1 and 6. Participants may select from two time slots: 1-4 pm or 5-7 pm.
Additional guided, self-paced drop-ins will be available should participants need more time to complete their bonnet/hood.
To register, please contact River Doucette at [email protected] or 867-689-3545 by September 25, 2025 at 12 pm. Workshop participants must have previous sewing experience. Those who want to observe, but not sew, should contact River as well.
This workshop series is made possible with funding support from the Government of Yukon.
