About

We will renew French Culture in our prairie town of Montmartre who, claims to the title of "Paris of the Prairies". The replica of the Eiffel Tower, which stands tall at the end of our main street, inspired our committee to bring French culture back! We will have a party to celebrate and educate! At the end of our main street there will be painting of the Eiffel tower, French inspired singing and fiddling music from a local musician and dancers. French cuisine will be served at the local Bistro to fill everyone's pallet. At the Montmartre Public Library we will have a French-themed craft and story with a song lead by a retired French teacher and the local Library Board & Staff volunteers. There will be a display of books and materials available at the library plus a slideshow of a Board member's trip to Montmartre, Paris!

The Montmartre Library provides a variety of free programs, services & materials for our entire community. We are a volunteer run organization with one Head Librarian and one Assistant. We partnered with local businesses and groups to host this event; Sister's Bistro, Montmartre Economic Development and the Village of Montmartre.

Our library is part of the Southeast Regional library and their Vision is "an informed and enriches community". The Mission is to provide the residents of southern Saskatchewan with the resources and experiences that foster a lifetime of imagination, discovery and learning.
