About

Community is the theme for the 28th Annual Dundas Studio taking place on Saturday, October 5, 2024. Lisa Ryder’s Green Ash Decor, Studio location #2, is in the heart of the Dundas community, at 64 Hatt Street, a part of the historical industrial heritage of Dundas.

Says Lisa Ryder, “I started making candles during Covid, when I wanted our home to have more hygge. At first, I was burning candles that we already owned, but I quickly realized that I wasn’t happy with the scents, questionable wax and wicks! I figured there had to be a cleaner, more sustainable way. I started playing around with waxes, wicks and essential oils and felt I was onto something!”

She continues, “I moved the operation out of my garage/kitchen and located at 64 Hatt Street in September 2021 and opened my shop in November. Our candles are made with Canadian beeswax, coconut wax and 100% essential oils, ensuring a pure and clean burn. As well, we blend the Canadian beeswax and coconut wax in-house, use only the best FSC-certified wooden wicks (or 100% cotton), and all of our containers are reusable or refillable.”

Also showing at Lisa Ryder’s Green Ash Decor, during the Dundas Studio Tour are Guest Artists Heidi Schnabel-Goldsmith; The French Laundry-Patti Rooke-Clothing Designer; Together Ceramics-Greg Voisin and Catmamola Ceramics-Ceramicists; and Christopher Goodhand-Woodturner.
