Organizer

Guelph Youth Music Centre

Established in 1992, the GYMC is a charitable organization dedicated to education, enrichment and fostering the development of youth through music and the arts. The unique facility officially opened its doors in September 2001 after six years of renovations. The GYMC is an exciting cultural hub for children of all ages and backgrounds in the community. The GYMC hosts a world-class concert hall, rehearsal spaces, classrooms, and a dance studio. The organization operates in a variety of ways to support artists, youth, students, and the broader community; through in-house programming as well as making subsidized rental space available to community organizations and local musicians. The GYMC is the home of the Suzuki String School of Guelph, Guelph Youth Singers, The Acting Centre, and many more music and community-based organizations. GYMC programs include the GYMC Youth String Orchestras, Guelph School of Music, Kids Chorus, Music for Children with Disabilities, and Ukulele Classes. The GYMC is also the host of KnightsFest, our popular free Annual Family Day event exploring the Medieval and Renaissance eras through music, dance, demonstrations, and interactive displays. Through a variety of programs, provision of space to partner organizations, and outreach into the community, the GYMC is a vital cultural hub in the City of Guelph.
