Mudra Dance Academy connects our community of all genres and levels of experience in our cultural enrichment. Mudra Dance Academy offers a variety of programs including local dance opportunities, professional development workshops in Indian Classical Dance and other Culture Days activities.

VRUNDA UPADHYAY

Bharatnatyam Dancer, Singer, India/Canada

Vrunda is a young talented Bharatnatyam dancer, Teacher, Choreographer and a Singer of unprecedented & graceful intensity. Despite of being a Computer Engineer by qualification, Vrunda Upadhyay opted to expand rich Indian cultural heritage through Bharatnatyam dance form.

She began her training at the age of 5 years under the guidance of Guru Shri Kubernath Tanjorkar (Presidential Award Winner), Guru Shri Ramesh Tanjorkar and Guru Smt Leela Tanjorkar.

She persued her Master of Fine Arts in Bharatnatyam from the Bharata College of Fine Arts & Culture, Mumbai.

She is a member of THE INTERNATIONAL DANCE COUNCIL CID, UNESCO and also a member of Association of Bharatnatyam Artistes of India (ABHAI).

She has also organised classical art festivals under the banner of her own Mudra Dance Academy in collaboration with The Dance India Magazine - An Exclusive magazine to spread Indian art and culture.

Recently she was highlighted as an exceptional organiser who helped make the Culture Days Weekend what it is across Canada. She was interviewed for the same which was published in February 2020.

She is currently teaching the students of Noopura Dance and has her own dance academy centre.

She is an internationally acclaimed artist who has been awarded with various titles and who always strives to spread awareness of the Indian art and culture through bharatnatyam dance in India & Canada.
