About
Discover the work of acclaimed Ottawa artist Charles Spratt, whose paintings are best recognized for their masterful use of light and deep connection to the natural world. Inspired by a childhood spent exploring fields and forests, Spratt developed a lifelong appreciation for landscape that continues to shape his artistic vision today. Each painting reflects decades of study, observation, and a passion for capturing the beauty of Canadian landscapes.
After pursuing a career in engineering, business, and family life, Spratt answered a calling to art under the mentorship of renowned plein air painter Grant Tigner. Today, his work has been exhibited in galleries all over Canada, and he continues to paint regularly whilst leading plein air excursions for fellow artists. Visitors to this guest exhibit will find a collection of one-of-a-kind paintings that celebrate the landscapes, light, and natural beauty that define our region.
A signature member of the Ontario Society of Artists and the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour, Spratt has played a part in Ontario's arts community via festivals, artist retreats, and mentorship programs. Whether you're an enthusiast, collector, or simply exploring local cultural experiences, this exhibition offers a chance to connect with the work of a celebrated Canadian artist, with a special vernissage on September 20th from 1:00-4:00pm.
