About

The Melody of Dance" evokes the rhythm and grace of movement set to music. Dance often captures emotions, tells stories, and reflects cultural heritage through melodies. Whether it's the elegant Ballet, the spirited folk dance, or the lively contemporary dance, each dance style has its unique musical accompaniment that enhances the aesthetics.

In the year 2024, the We Dance Association prepared two dance genres to celebrate BC Culture Days. Chinese Folk dances are traditional dances that are typically associated with Chinese culture or community and reflect the heritage, customs, and history of its people; contemporary dance is a dynamic and expressive genre that blends elements from various dance styles, including modern, jazz, ballet, and even hip-hop.

Organizer

Vancouver We Dance Association of Canada

Established in early 2021, the Vancouver We Dance Association of Canada is made of members of Chinese mothers who love life, passionate about dance. The purpose of VWDAC is to serve their communities, promote multiculturalism in Greater Vancouver, and increase cross-cultural communication.

Ms Liu Jun, the teacher of VWDAC, was originally the main performer of The Political Department of Nanjing Military Art Troupe. She graduated from Beijing Dance Academy and won numerous awards in many dance competitions not only nationwide but also worldwide. Under her careful guidance, VWDAC has formed a healthy environment between teaching and learning; interconnecting the learned techniques and live performance; bridging and mixing the different dancing styles between classic and modern, ethnic and western. VWDAC will present more works originated or inspired by our life. We hope to attract more interest from friends, who love their life and are passionate about dancing, to join our loving family, and enjoy the miracles brought by dance.
