About

An Elder will be present by the sacred fire to share knowledge and stories, if you have a request of our Elder please bring an offering of tobacco to offer from your left hand to theirs. This event will also include an opportunity for people to join a hand drum circle, no experience required, bring your own drum or try one of ours and learn about drum teachings and our songs. Our staff who work with youth will be present to give teachings around Traditional games and get active at the same time! We will have a self-guided table where people can learn about Woodland Art and the artist who created our colouring pages. Anishnawbe Mushkiki's Health Promotion team will be on site to hand out taster samples of Traditional foods and teas as well as to educate on the difference between commercial and sacred tobacco. Additionally, we will have a self-guided table where the public can learn about how they can take part in truth and reconciliation. An experienced beader has agreed to join us to lead people thru beading an orange shirt pin, first come first serve, while quantities last. This event is open to everyone, there is room for all of us in the medicine wheel!
